Gender equality is when all genders have equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities to all aspects of life. Gender equality which is the SDG Goal 5, seeks to empower all women and girls to embrace a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. The STEMinist Foundation, Ghana is working around the goal to promote a better world. Promoting gender equality is by helping women to gain power, providing them with comprehensive training, being fair in job opportunities, providing equal wages for equal works, encouraging zero tolerance in sexual harassment and racism.

A STEMinist is someone who believes in and advocates for gender equality in STEM fields. Stem + Feminist = STEMinist. STEMinists work towards breaking down gender barriers and promoting equal opportunities for everyone in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Despite progress, gender disparities still exist in STEM. Steminism addresses the under-representation of women in these fields, challenges stereotypes, and seeks to create an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive in STEM careers.
